One of the advantages of indie pubbing is the ability to test drive covers with ease. I approach choosing a cover design like dating. I go into it thinking the first or the second is probably not THE ONE.
I did this with The Mommy Group. Cover #1 was an illustration. Cover #2 was another illustration that strongly resembled the first cover, but with several color changes. Cover #3 was not an illustration; it featured a headless model in a red dress. I believe this one is the most spot-on of the three so I've kept it for more than a year. I still like this cover a lot. I will probably repeat this look (with a different headless model in a flirty, short dress in a different color ) for future chick lit/mommy lit books ............Read More
