Updated: June 16 , 2008 This is the page where anything and everything goes.
Music I just discovered a new alternative metal band called "Finger Eleven." Well, they're not exactly new. I'm told Finger Eleven has been around for a while, but their latest CD, "Them Vs. You Vs. Me," has garnered the most mainstream attention and zoomed up the major charts. I first saw the band performing the monster hit "Paralyzer" during the swimsuit competition at the recent Miss USA competition. I couldn't get "Paralyzer" out of my head for days. This song ROCKS! I watched that segment of the pageant over and over on YouTube just to hear the damn song. Then I found the official music video for it on YouTube, too. Finally, just bought the CD. Visit Finger Eleven at www.fingereleven.com to listen to "Paralyzer." I dare you not to move! The last few books I've read and enjoyed: Romance: *"Tall Tales and Wedding Veils" by Jane Graves. I can always count on Jane for a fun read. For more info check her out at www.janegraves.com *"Irresistible Forces" by Brenda Jackson. With this book Brenda just became the first African-American romance author to crack the New York Times bestsellers list. Way ta go, Brenda J! For more info check out her site at www.brendajackson.net Women's fiction: "Sheer Abandon" by Penny Vincenzi "And Then She Found Me" by Elinor Lipman soon to be a theatrical release starring Helen Hunt
Next up on my reading list: "Model Summer" by Paulina Porizkova - The former supermodel-turned-America's-Next-Top-Model judge writes fiction, too! "After The Dance" by Lori Johnson "LoveHampton" by Sherri Rifkin. I chose this book because the cover really jumped out at me. The soothing summery blue sky and ocean scene is a real eye-catcher. The title and cover scream: "Perfect summer read!". The St. Martin's art department did a fantastic job. What's on TV? "Army Wives" "The Bachelorette "She's Got The Look" Theatrical movies I saw opening weekend: "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." Meh...So-so... "Sex & The City - The Movie" Loved it! Will most definitely watch again and again.
Until next time...
