Confession: I am one of those writers who feel as if characters actually speak. Not to sound too flakey or woo-woo about it, but as I’m writing I hear their voices. And I feel as if I’m simply their transcribing vessel, especially when I'm doing dialogue.

 Sometimes when  I’m putting words on the page I think I hear my protagonist say:

“No way! Who does that???”

"Give me another name. I don't like that one."

“Nope. What you had me doing in that last chapter makes me look and sound psycho. Cut." 

“Reon, uh-uh. That sucks. Try again.”

Actually, I hear the last line A LOT.  ;)

I was saddened to learn that veteran, award-winning romance author Gwynne Forster passed away last month after an illness.

I met Gywnne more than a decade ago. I was a  full-time newspaper reporter who wrote fiction on the side as a hobby.  At the time,  I had  one novel (Picture Perfect) released by a small press.

I'd done some local TV appearances to promote the book with the help of a publicist friend of mine. As a result I was invited to participate in a popular local book fair,  featuring several veteran authors such as Gywnne and Donna Hill, who already had long, impressive romance writing  resumes. I couldn't believe my luck! Getting the opporunity to sit at the same table and do my FIRST book ............
